Drink for Energy. The Best Energy Drinks
GET GOING WITH ENERGY DRINKS
How do you determine the best drinks for energy? For example, what are the factors that you use to rate a particular energy drink to evaluate if it’s what you want? Top of the mind indicators could taste, effectiveness, nutritional goodness, and maybe cost. But you may conjure up other parameters, in time. And this piece is intended to give you an idea of the things that you could think about while deciding on the best energy drinks.
Taste, then. Are you one of those that believe that a sweet-tasting energy drink is number one, you may want to know that sugar as a substance provides just a short-term boost, and the high transforms into a low quite fast. In other words, you will not obtain a continuous input of energy from sugar, because your body, while it may convert the sugar to instant energy, will fast run out of it. And, of course, if you’re a diabetic, the excess sugar could be potentially fatal for your system. Even if you are not, too much sugar means more calories than are good for you.
If you consider nutritional value, the 1st thing you should check for is if the energy considered drink depends too much on caffeine. In very blunt terms, caffeine excites the nervous system, which means if you take a shot of caffeine, you will immediately drive away any tiredness or exhaustion you could be experiencing. And although caffeine is standard in most energy drinks, you must watch out to avoid overdosing on it. The chief problem with caffeine is that, as with sugar, it usually generates a short-term energy input, which means you desire to replenish your body’s caffeine supply often. But, most energy drinks contain over than the recommended amount of caffeine, and if you take in more than your body requires, you’ll start to feel restless, anxious, and on the edge. You see, too much energy can be a bad thing, too!
Staying with the topic of nutritional goodness, at the opposite end of the spectrum are energy drinks that rely largely on Vitamin B. Now this is something that boosts both the immune and nervous systems, but does not have an instant effect. However, it is advisable that you do not subject your body to a continual diet of Vitamin B. What most nutritionists would recommend is a daily, timed intake.
You could also be looking for low or zero-carb energy drinks, and low or zero-calorie ones. Many people prefer organic or natural energy drinks, that give an energy drive without artificial additives. And for those who have to have energy drinks very often – such as athletes – cost would definitely be an important thing to think about, and in this context, you should remember that the best energy drinks need not necessarily be the costliest.
So there you are. Whatever your criteria, the best energy drink is only an arm’s length away.
